Associate Attorney General Liability

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with experience in general liability matters to join their team in Mineola, NY. This full-time, in-office position offers an opportunity to work on complex insurance defense cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general liability law, with a focus on defending clients in high-stakes litigation.

Duties:

• Manage and handle complex general liability cases from inception through resolution.
• Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients regarding general liability claims.
• Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Represent clients in court, including depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Coordinate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure timely case progression.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and provide regular updates on case status.
• Research case law and legal precedents to support case arguments and strategies.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense, specifically in general liability matters.
• Strong experience in case management, legal research, and drafting legal documents.
• Proven ability to handle complex litigation matters and manage a significant caseload.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent clients in court.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
