A law firm in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Project Development Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development. The ideal candidate will have a background in renewable energy, oil & gas sectors, or extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of renewable and conventional energy projects, including wind, solar, LNG, and nuclear.
  • Negotiate and draft engineering, procurement, and construction agreements (EPC), operations and maintenance agreements (O&M), and equipment procurement agreements (EPA).
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction contracts and other development agreements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in project development and finance law.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and colleagues in specialty areas such as tax, regulatory, and real estate.
  • Provide counsel on project finance transactions related to energy projects.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for project development activities.
  • Assist in resolving legal issues related to project implementation and operations.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in California.
  • 3-6 years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development.
  • Proven experience negotiating and drafting EPC, O&M, and EPA agreements.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy, energy storage, and power generation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of project finance specific to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-profile clients in the renewable energy market.
  • Prior law firm experience, preferably in a sophisticated national law firm environment.
