Job Overview:
A dynamic and growing personal injury law firm is seeking a highly motivated Briefing & Research Attorney to assist trial attorneys in preparing personal injury cases. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with drafting legal documents, conducting research, and supporting trial attorneys during litigation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for personal injury law and be eager to develop their skills in trial preparation, including second-chair trial experience.

Location:

  • San Antonio, TX

Duties:

  • Assist trial attorneys in the preparation of personal injury cases.
  • Draft discovery requests and responses, pleadings, motions, and responses to motions.
  • Conduct legal research for case development and trial preparation.
  • Prepare for and assist with depositions.
  • Provide trial support to the trial attorney during hearings and court appearances.
  • Learn strategies and techniques for the development of plaintiff personal injury cases.
  • Gain exposure to second-chair trial litigation experience.

Requirements:

  • Active, licensed attorney in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of personal injury experience (preferred).
  • Excellent writing skills and strong legal research capabilities.
  • Clear and effective verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interest and passion for personal injury law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active state bar license.

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing and research skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case preparation.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines.
  • Desire to grow within personal injury litigation.
