Bankruptcy Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join their team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a legal professional with expertise in consumer and/or business bankruptcy law. The firm handles a diverse range of bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 filings, as well as creditor's rights and insolvency matters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cases from consultation to resolution, providing expert legal counsel, and negotiating settlements. The position offers a hybrid work schedule with flexibility.

Location:

• Livingston, NJ

Duties:

• Represent individuals and businesses in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings
• Represent bankruptcy trustees in various proceedings
• Provide legal counsel on debt relief options, creditor negotiations, and financial restructuring
• Draft and file bankruptcy petitions, motions, objections, disclosure statements, plans, and adversary pleadings
• Negotiate settlements with trustees, creditors, and other parties in interest
• Stay up-to-date with changes in bankruptcy law and regulations
• Maintain and build client relationships while delivering high-quality legal services
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case management
• Manage and lead cases from initial consultation through resolution

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey
• Experience in consumer and/or business bankruptcy law
• In-depth knowledge of federal bankruptcy laws and state insolvency procedures
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and legal writing skills
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Client-focused approach with a commitment to exceptional service
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• New Jersey Bar license required
