A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Law Attorney to join its Employment Law Practice Group in Encino, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience counseling employers on a wide range of workplace issues, including hiring, firing, wage and hour concerns, harassment, discrimination, and employee benefits. This is a full-time role offering the opportunity to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment while handling a diverse array of employment law matters.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel to employers regarding daily employee-related issues such as hiring, terminations, wage and hour compliance, harassment, discrimination, and workplace policies.
  • Draft, review, and update employment agreements, employee handbooks, and policies.
  • Advise on leaves of absence and other employee benefits issues.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, disputes, and other employment-related matters.
  • Develop and implement training programs for clients on workplace legal issues.
  • Maintain a proactive approach in staying current with developments in employment law and regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on advising employers on workplace issues.
  • Strong academic background and excellent legal writing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a challenging workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Established interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated maturity and the ability to take on significant responsibility.
  • Experience with employer-side employment litigation is a plus.
  • Established networking or marketing skills are preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the California State Bar (required).
