Environmental Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced Environmental Associate Attorney to join its team in Albany, NY. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience with a focus on litigation and/or regulatory matters related to federal and state environmental laws. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills are essential, along with excellent academic credentials and prior experience in environmental law.

Duties:

• Handle litigation and regulatory matters pertaining to federal and state environmental laws
• Provide legal counsel on environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
• Assist in renewable energy development projects
• Conduct environmental due diligence for clients
• Represent clients in environmental enforcement actions
• Advise on issues related to contaminated properties

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience in environmental law
• Experience in litigation and/or regulatory matters
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
• Excellent academic credentials
• Prior experience in one or more of the above focus areas
• New York Bar or Washington, D.C. license

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York Bar or Washington, D.C. Bar

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental laws
