Job Overview: A law firm specializing in real estate law is seeking a motivated Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its Wilmington, DE office. The ideal candidate will provide legal support in various aspects of real estate transactions and litigation, with a focus on construction contracting and development agreements.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across diverse industry sectors.
  • Negotiate EPC contracts for extensive infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delays, and construction defect claims.
  • Support construction litigation and arbitration proceedings, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing motions, and participating in hearings and trials.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality work products promptly, meeting deadlines and expectations.
  • Adhere to firm policies and practices, fostering positive work relationships.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction contracting and related development matters.
  • Experience in transactional and litigation support for construction and development work.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard form agreements (e.g., AIA contracts).
  • Admission to the Delaware Bar preferred.
  • Prior experience with litigation or arbitration matters is advantageous.
