Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join its growing Real Estate section. This position presents an opportunity to work with an established client base and continue developing a transactional practice. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in commercial real estate law and expertise in key areas such as construction agreements, acquisitions and dispositions, financing, leasing, and more.

Location:

  • Chattanooga, TN

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate commercial real estate leases, purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, easements, covenants, and similar agreements
  • Engage in due diligence for real estate transactions, including reviewing title, survey, and environmental reports
  • Track critical dates and prepare, negotiate, and manage closing documents
  • Facilitate closings and manage post-closing documentation and administration
  • Draft and review complex agreements, including operating agreements, property management agreements, and indemnity agreements
  • Negotiate loan documents (if applicable)
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage deals and client needs
  • Maintain and organize client files effectively
  • Work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work product

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial real estate transactional law
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, solve problems, and handle complex transactions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines
  • Willingness to collaborate, support team efforts, and contribute to business development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including client interaction

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Tennessee Bar or eligibility to seek admission in Tennessee

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities
  • Expertise in commercial real estate transactions, including construction agreements, acquisitions, financing, and leasing
