Zoning and Land Use Associate Attorney

A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Zoning and Land Use Associate Attorney to join their highly regarded zoning and land use group. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in representing property owners, developers, tenants, and municipalities throughout the land entitlement and development process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent property owners, developers, tenants, and municipalities in various aspects of zoning and land use.
• Prepare and file zoning and use permit applications.
• Review and interpret zoning plans and related documents.
• Appear before zoning and planning boards, as well as community organizations.
• Provide legal guidance on land entitlement and development processes.
• Assist with appellate matters related to zoning and land use (experience in this area is a plus).
• Conduct legal research and draft related documents.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop and implement case strategies.
• Stay current with changes in zoning and land use laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in zoning and land use law.
• Experience representing property owners, developers, tenants, and/or municipalities in the land entitlement and development process.
• Strong academic credentials, including a J.D. or equivalent degree from a well-respected U.S. law school.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar or planning to take the Bar exam promptly after starting.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar or intent to take the Bar exam promptly after starting.
