Job Overview:

A prestigious AmLaw-ranked law firm is seeking a talented Corporate Restructuring Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This position will focus on representing clients in complex in-court and out-of-court restructurings, including Chapter 11 proceedings and cross-border matters. Location:

  • Atlanta, GA

Duties:

  • Represent debtors, creditor committees, lenders, asset purchasers, and other key stakeholders

  • Manage legal strategy and execution for Chapter 11 and other restructuring matters

  • Present and argue contested matters in bankruptcy court

  • Draft pleadings including first-day motions and related filings

  • Prepare reorganization plans and associated confirmation documentation

  • Conduct and manage claims reconciliation and objection processes

  • Negotiate settlements and participate in discussions with various parties-in-interest

  • Assist with sale or acquisition of distressed assets

  • Handle aspects of orderly liquidations

Requirements:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience handling in-court and out-of-court corporate restructurings

  • Experience with Chapter 11 proceedings is essential

  • Ability to independently manage complex tasks and client expectations

  • Admitted and in good standing with the state bar in one of the listed jurisdictions (NY, IL, FL, TX, GA)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission in the jurisdiction corresponding to the selected office location

Skills:

  • Strong litigation, analytical, and negotiation skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

  • Proficiency in legal drafting and procedural rules for bankruptcy court
