Job Overview

Duties

  • Represent clients in criminal defense matters, including pre-trial motions, hearings, trials, and negotiations

  • Provide proactive and responsive communication to clients throughout case proceedings

  • Analyze case law, evidence, and legal arguments to determine defense strategy

  • Prepare legal documents including motions, briefs, and memoranda

  • Negotiate plea agreements and settlements where appropriate

  • Work collaboratively with legal support staff to prepare for court proceedings

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of criminal law statutes and procedures in Texas

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas

  • Experience in Texas criminal law preferred

  • Strong litigation and courtroom skills

  • Excellent legal research and analytical abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple cases with attention to detail and deadlines

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the Texas State Bar
