The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in a relevant biological field, be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and possess substantial experience in patent drafting and prosecution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to biotech and life sciences.
  • Conduct intellectual property (IP) due diligence and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses.
  • Work closely with clients and legal teams to address and resolve patent-related issues.
  • Prepare and file responses to office actions and other communications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Analyze scientific literature and patent databases to support application preparation and prosecution.
  • Assist in managing and strategizing IP portfolios.
  • Support patent litigation and licensing efforts as required.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Experience in a law firm environment is desirable.
  • Experience conducting IP due diligence and FTO analyses is helpful.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
