A law firm in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Consumer Financial Services Career Attorney with 3+ years of experience in consumer finance related litigation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in areas such as Mortgage Servicing Litigation, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA).

Duties:

  • Handle litigation matters related to consumer financial services, including mortgage servicing, debt collection practices, credit reporting, and real estate settlements.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and prepare for hearings and trials.
  • Manage discovery processes, including document production and review, and take/defend depositions.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations.
  • Develop case strategies and provide strategic legal advice to clients.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff on case management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and in good standing with at least one of the following state bars: California, Nevada, Oregon, New Mexico, Washington, Arizona, Hawaii, or Oklahoma.
  • 3+ years of experience in consumer finance related litigation.
  • Strong academic credentials and professional achievements.
  • Experience with Mortgage Servicing Litigation, FDCPA, FCRA, RESPA, or related areas is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in handling consumer financial services litigation matters.
  • Legal research skills using LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar databases.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
