Associate Attorney needed for Roseland office

Job Overview:
A multi-state insurance defense firm is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its Roseland, NJ office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3-7 years of experience who is licensed in both New Jersey and New York. The firm offers a collegial environment with the chance to gain hands-on experience, manage a variety of cases, and advance within the firm. Candidates with knowledge of professional liability defense are preferred, but not required.

Location:

• Roseland, NJ

Duties:

• Manage an independent caseload with oversight from senior attorneys
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and depositions
• Participate in case inspections and consult with expert witnesses
• Attend mediations and assist in trial preparation
• Defend various types of cases, including professional liability, construction defect, and personal injury

Requirements:

• 3-7 years of experience
• Licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and New York
• Familiarity with NY and NJ Court Rules and Procedures
• Knowledge of professional liability defense is a plus
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with partners
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• New Jersey Bar License (Required)
• New York Bar License (Required)

Skills:

• Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Strong research and writing skills
• Experience conducting and defending depositions
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently
• Experience attending hearings and participating in mediations
