Litigation Attorney

A law firm in West Covina, CA, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with a strong background in insurance defense. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience, including substantive law and motion practice, conducting and defending depositions, handling discovery, and appearing in court. Prior trial experience is preferred, and the candidate must be admitted in good standing with the California State Bar.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Represent clients in insurance defense litigation, including handling all aspects of discovery, motions, and court appearances.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Prepare and file legal motions, briefs, and other necessary documents related to insurance defense cases.
• Manage case files, ensuring compliance with insurer reporting requirements and insurance policy terms.
• Provide expert legal advice and develop strategies for defense litigation.
• Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and trial brief drafting.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, insurance policies (GL, D&O, E&O, etc.), and insurer requirements.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to achieve favorable outcomes and resolve complex legal issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Strong experience in substantive law and motion practice, conducting and defending depositions, and handling discovery.
• Prior trial experience is preferred.
• Admission in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Familiarity with insurance policies (GL, D&O, E&O) and insurer reporting requirements.
• Excellent oral advocacy and written communication skills.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
