Labor Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Pleasant Hill, CA, is seeking a Labor Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will excel in legal research and writing and advocate for law enforcement and public safety employee clients in challenging situations.

Duties:

• Advocate on behalf of law enforcement and public safety employee clients
• Negotiate collective bargaining agreements
• Litigate grievances and unfair practice charges (PERB/NLRB)
• Defend retirement claims against CalPERS

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar
• 3-5 years of experience in labor law
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in legal drafting and administrative tasks
• Knowledge of LexisNexis or other legal research platforms
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred:

• Interest and/or experience in negotiating collective bargaining agreements
• Experience litigating grievances and unfair practice charges (PERB/NLRB)
• Experience defending retirement claims against CalPERS
