Entry-Level Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, seeks an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated interest in immigration law, a solid commitment to advocacy, and the ability to handle a diverse caseload professionally and efficiently. The role involves representing clients in immigration proceedings, preparing legal documents, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve favorable client outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients and stakeholders.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a varied workload of immigration cases, ensuring timely and effective case handling.
• Conduct intakes and visits with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
• Prepare and file diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and revise immigration applications and packets as needed.
• Present updates and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
• Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations to determine the legal strategy.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to determine potential benefits and outcomes for clients' cases.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered).
• Demonstrated interest in immigration law through Law School clinics, volunteer work, or internships.
• Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and move legal cases forward.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.
