Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated Immigration Attorney to join its team in Bethesda, Maryland. This role involves managing a variety of business immigration cases, including E-2, L-1A, H-1B, TN, PERM, EB-5 direct investments and regional center investments, EB-1A, and EB-2 National Interest Waivers. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional eager to develop case strategies, communicate with clients, and collaborate with legal teams. The firm offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of business immigration matters.

  • Communicate directly with clients, USCIS, and consular posts regarding case progress.

  • Conduct legal research, analyze case details, and develop strategies for successful immigration filings.

  • Supervise and guide legal assistants in preparing and submitting visa applications, waivers, and other immigration-related documents.

  • Schedule and conduct client meetings in-person and via virtual platforms.

  • Track case statuses and ensure timely follow-ups with clients and relevant agencies.

  • Respond to USCIS requests for evidence and government correspondence, crafting effective responses.

  • Maintain case calendars, monitor deadlines, and manage workflow efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in immigration law.

  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities.

  • Proficiency in case management and client communications.

  • State Bar License in good standing.

  • Fluency in Spanish or Chinese is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in using legal software and case management tools.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

  • Multilingual communication skills (Spanish or Chinese preferred).
