Job Overview:
An established law firm in Fort Worth is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its growing immigration team. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney looking to further their career in immigration law and gain valuable experience in a collaborative and supportive environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage their own caseload, interact with clients, and work alongside a team of experienced attorneys and legal assistants.

Location:

  • Fort Worth, TX

Duties:

  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Prepare and file a range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Manage a caseload of immigration cases from initiation to resolution.
  • Visit and conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at centers.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations and develop appropriate legal strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to help clients understand their case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in immigration law (can include internships or law school experience).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Record of moving legal cases forward with the ability to manage a caseload.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of immigration law, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and USCIS applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with case management software is a plus.
