Job Overview

A distinguished law firm located in White Plains, NY, is seeking a highly experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will possess between 5-10 years of relevant experience, have a deep understanding of insurance coverage law, and be admitted to practice in the State of New York. The attorney will work on complex legal issues in collaboration with top-tier partners, providing counsel on insurance and reinsurance policies, regulatory matters, and litigation support. Some travel may be required.

Duties

  • Manage assigned caseload independently or under supervision, based on experience level
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
  • Handle depositions, court appearances, and motion practices
  • Analyze insurance and reinsurance policies and provide coverage opinions
  • Communicate with clients and provide expert recommendations on coverage matters
  • Conduct in-depth legal research on insurance regulations and policies
  • Maintain strong client relationships and adhere to client guidelines
  • Ensure timely completion of all internal and external deadlines

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in insurance coverage law or closely related fields such as reinsurance or regulatory insurance law
  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York (additional admission to CT, NJ, or PA is a plus)
  • Federal court experience is advantageous

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admittance to the New York State Bar (or pending admission)

Certifications

  • New York State Bar Admission (CT, NJ, and/or PA admission is a plus)
  • Federal court admission is a plus
