Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess substantive experience in contentious and transactional aspects of employment law and strong academic and writing credentials.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment litigation cases, including arbitration and trial proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employer policies, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare and file position statements with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH).
  • Conduct witness interviews and depositions and gather evidence for litigation.
  • Counsel clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Develop and draft workplace policies and procedures.
  • Assist clients in designing and implementing employment training programs.
  • Stay updated on recent legal developments and best practices in employment law.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of substantive experience in employment litigation.
  • Experience with arbitration and trial work.
  • Meaningful experience in transactional employment, including policy drafting and compliance counseling.
  • Experience drafting EEOC position statements and DFEH responses.
  • Demonstrated ability in conducting witness interviews and depositions.
  • Superior academic and writing credentials.
  • California Bar admission is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California Bar.
