A law firm is seeking a Senior Patent Agent for its Fort Worth, TX office. The ideal candidate should be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and possess 10+ years of patent prosecution experience.

Job Overview:

The Senior Patent Agent will conduct prior art searches, analyze patents and scientific papers, and assist with patent preparation, prosecution, and counseling. Additionally, they will be involved in patent portfolio management and strategy development.

Duties:

  • Conduct prior art searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses
  • Analyze patents and scientific papers to assist with patent preparation, prosecution, and counseling
  • Manage patent portfolios and develop patent strategy
  • Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to draft patent applications
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding patent matters

Requirements:

  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • 10+ years of patent prosecution experience
  • Ph.D. or M.S. in cellular biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, virology, chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmacy, or related technical field
  • Technical background in biological sciences and pharmaceutical sciences preferred
  • Broad technical knowledge
  • Excellent academic record
  • Written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English

Education and Certifications:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in relevant technical field
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
