Associate needed for New Orleans office

Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking experienced attorneys to join their dynamic defense litigation team. The ideal candidates will have 1-5 years of experience in defense litigation, particularly in medical malpractice, professional negligence, and/or construction defect claims.

Location:

• New Orleans, LA

Duties:

• Represent clients in defense litigation cases.
• Handle cases involving medical malpractice, professional negligence, and construction defect claims.
• Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members on case strategies and development.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in defense litigation.
• Prior experience in medical malpractice, professional negligence, and/or construction defect claims is preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice in the state of Louisiana.

Skills:

• Litigation experience with an emphasis on defense.
