Job Overview

A prominent immigration law firm based in New York City is seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Immigration Attorney to join its growing team. This position is ideal for an attorney with up to 3 years of experience in immigration law, seeking to deepen their expertise in a supportive, high-impact environment. The role involves diverse casework including removal defense, asylum, and both family- and employment-based immigration matters.

Location

Duties

  • Provide representation in a range of immigration matters including:

    • Asylum

    • Deportation/removal defense

    • Family-based and employment-based immigration

  • Attend and advocate at:

    • Master Calendar Hearings

    • Individual Merits Hearings before Immigration Court

    • USCIS interviews

    • Family court proceedings related to special immigrant juvenile status

  • Draft and file legal briefs, motions, petitions, and supporting documents

  • Advise clients on legal strategy and case progress

  • Remain informed on updates in immigration law and regulations

  • Handle a high-volume caseload efficiently and accurately

  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure client success

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of experience in immigration law (litigation experience preferred)

  • Admission to practice law in New York or New Jersey (New York preferred)

  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds

  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering quality legal services

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in NY or NJ (NY preferred)

  • Admission in additional jurisdictions is a plus
