Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an ambitious Associate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in medical malpractice law, with no prior experience required. Training and mentorship will be provided to ensure success in this role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling litigation, pre-litigation processes, and client interactions in the medical malpractice and nursing home abuse sectors.

Location:

  • Mesa, AZ

Duties:

  • Litigation: Manage all aspects of medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases, from intake through trial or settlement.
  • Pre-Litigation: Draft, approve, and negotiate demand letters, working closely with partners to achieve favorable settlements.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate empathetically with clients, explaining the litigation process and preparing them for depositions, discovery, and trial.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research on medical procedures, legal issues, and standards of care to support litigation.
  • Case Management: Manage multiple case files, ensuring deadlines and litigation strategies are met. Collaborate with paralegals, assistants, and other staff.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Arizona, or on track to be licensed by 2025.
  • Exceptional writing skills, including strong citations and persuasive, logically sound arguments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client communication, negotiation, and working with other attorneys and staff.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to client advocacy.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and initiative.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new legal challenges.
  • Passion for medical law and advocating for victims of medical negligence.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • License to practice law with the Arizona State Bar (preferred).
