Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an experienced Attorney Specialist to join its Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF) practice group. This position offers a non-partnership track opportunity for an attorney with 5-10 years of experience in asset management, particularly focusing on mutual fund and ETF filings, fund launches, and matters arising under the 1940 Act. The ideal candidate will support registered fund attorneys and work closely with partners and associates on significant client matters in a growing, specialized area of law.

Location:

  • Ft. Worth, TX.

Duties:

  • Assist with mutual fund and ETF filings, including the preparation and submission of necessary regulatory documents.
  • Support new fund launches and review/updating of mutual fund registration statements and shareholder reports.
  • Prepare and review mutual fund board materials.
  • Conduct research on issues arising under the 1940 Act.
  • Work with partners and associates on significant client relationships.
  • Manage complex projects, demonstrating leadership and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Provide high-level client service and legal advice.
  • Stay current on developments in asset management and investment fund law.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of direct experience in asset management and investment funds law, including familiarity with the 1940 Act.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong academic background and excellent communication skills.
  • Proven project management and leadership abilities.
  • Experience working with mutual funds, ETFs, and related financial regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain long-term client relationships and provide exceptional service.
  • Must have a commitment to excellence and a desire to contribute to a growing practice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing (required).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of asset management and investment fund laws, particularly the 1940 Act.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management abilities and ability to lead teams or contribute as a key team member.
  • Ability to work with complex financial regulations and provide strategic legal advice.
