Family Law Attorney

A law firm in New York, NY is seeking a seasoned Family Law Attorney with over 8 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing clients in New York and New Jersey across a broad spectrum of family law matters. They should demonstrate proficiency in managing a busy caseload, preparing legal documents, and advocating for clients in mediations, hearings, and trials.

Duties:

• Represent clients in various family law matters including separation, divorce, custody disputes, spousal and child support, and marital property issues.
• Manage a busy family law caseload efficiently and effectively.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as discovery requests, motions, and briefs.
• Attend mediations, hearings, and trials to advocate for clients' interests.
• Handle a high volume of cases while ensuring attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Prefer candidates with 1st chair trial experience.
• Manage active family law matters and contribute to the growth of the firm's family law practice.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience practicing family law.
• Proven track record of representing clients in New York and New Jersey.
• Licensed to practice law in both New York and New Jersey.
• Prefer candidates with a small book of business.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in New York.
