A law firm seeks a skilled Labor and Employment Attorney to join its growing team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience handling Labor & Employment matters, including wage and hour disputes and PAGA cases. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with opportunities to collaborate closely with senior attorneys and manage cases from inception to trial.

Duties:

  • Manage cases from start to finish in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and opposing counsel.
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and other essential legal documents.
  • Provide strategic guidance in complex litigation matters.
  • Coordinate with partners, paralegals, and assistants on ongoing cases.
  • Manage multiple client matters simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Assess and advise clients on legal risks and potential outcomes.
  • Research complex legal questions and issues.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in Labor and Employment law, specifically in wage and hour and PAGA cases.
  • Trial experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional legal writing and research abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines concurrently.
  • Ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Proven experience managing cases throughout their lifecycle, from pre-litigation counseling to trial.
  • Ability to lead and supervise paralegals and support staff.
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active member of the California State Bar in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters with precision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring support staff such as paralegals.
  • Client-focused approach with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
