Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Bakersfield, CA, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Immigration Attorney. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys and support staff in providing strategic immigration solutions for clients. The role involves managing a diverse caseload, preparing immigration applications, and representing clients in removal proceedings. Duties:

• Advise clients on immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions.
• Represent detained and non-detained clients in Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals proceedings.
• Handle a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and effective management.
• Conduct intake interviews and assessments with detained individuals.
• Prepare and review immigration applications, focusing on both removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Liaise with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law updates.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients and develop legal strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Strong team player with a collaborative approach to casework.
• Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to advance legal cases and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with Case Management Software (preferred).

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar and authorization to practice law.

• Proficient in immigration law practices and procedures.
• Excellent case management and organizational skills.
• Ability to develop client-focused strategies and legal analyses.
• Strong research, writing, and presentation skills.
