A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy/Restructuring Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in handling complex Chapter 11 cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, excellent written and oral communication skills, and prior experience representing various parties in complex bankruptcy matters. Additional experience in handling workouts and restructurings, particularly in the automotive and mobility industry, would be advantageous.

 

Job Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, including debtors, secured creditors, official committees, and unsecured creditors.
  • Manage negotiations, settlements, and litigation arising from bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Provide strategic guidance and legal counsel to clients throughout the bankruptcy process.
  • Collaborate effectively with other attorneys and professionals on case matters.
  • Utilize expertise in handling complex workouts and restructurings, with a focus on the automotive and mobility industry when applicable.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in Texas.
  • 3-5 years of experience in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.
  • Prior experience representing debtors, secured creditors, official committees, and unsecured creditors.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Texas State Bar.

  • Comprehensive understanding of bankruptcy law and procedures, particularly Chapter 11.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
