A law firm seeks a motivated Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic practice in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of employment law matters, including litigation, compliance, and advisory services, within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in all phases of employment litigation, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Provide comprehensive counsel to clients on employment law matters, including compliance, risk management, and dispute resolution.
  • Defend clients in agency complaints and investigations.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents and agreements, such as handbooks, contracts, and policies.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, pleadings, and memoranda.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop effective strategies tailored to each case.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to advocacy and client-focused service.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in employment litigation or a closely related legal field.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and recent case law developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent analytical, research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Iowa Bar or eligibility for waiver into Iowa. Candidates willing to sit for the next bar exam will also be considered.
