Job Overview
A prominent law firm in New York City seeks an experienced and driven General Liability Of Counsel/Partner for its General Liability practice. This role requires a professional with strong research, analytical, and litigation skills to work in a collaborative, supportive environment, providing top-tier legal expertise and client service.

Duties

• Conduct detailed file reviews and provide legal analysis on claims and causes of action
• Perform thorough legal research and draft briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and depositions
• Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and retain experts as necessary
• Prepare for and attend trials as needed
• Participate in travel when required to fulfill case or client obligations

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in general liability; experience in additional practice areas is a plus
• Licensure: Admitted to practice in NY and NJ; admission in additional states is advantageous
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Research & Communication: Proficient in research and highly effective in both written and verbal communication
• Client Management: Skilled at engaging and communicating with clients
• Responsiveness: Ability to respond promptly to emails and calls
• Work Ethic: High level of initiative, self-management, and team collaboration skills

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey (additional state licensures are beneficial)
