Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Albany, NY, is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney to join its Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice. This role focuses on providing expert legal counsel in response to cybersecurity incidents, data breach management, and compliance with data privacy laws. Duties:

  • Provide counsel on data breach response and cybersecurity incidents.
  • Advise clients on federal and state data privacy and security laws.

  • Participate in forensic investigations and mitigation tactics for cyber attacks.

  • Contribute to data privacy litigation, including drafting briefs, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and court appearances.
  • Counsel clients on emerging issues like artificial intelligence and its legal implications.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience practicing law in cybersecurity and data privacy.
  • Experience with data breach forensics and cybersecurity incident management.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal data privacy laws.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and counseling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Superior academic credentials are preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar (required).
