Job Title: Mid to Senior-Level Energy and Infrastructure Projects Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Washington, D.C. is actively seeking a mid to senior-level Associate to join its growing Energy and Infrastructure Projects practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions involving project development, M&A, project finance, and asset acquisitions/dispositions across the energy and infrastructure sectors. Ideal candidates will bring a strong transactional background, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in a dynamic legal environment.

Duties:

  • Structure, draft, and negotiate agreements relating to project development, mergers, acquisitions, and financings in the energy and infrastructure space

  • Advise clients on transactional risks, commercial strategy, and regulatory implications

  • Conduct due diligence, risk assessment, and review of transaction documents for acquisitions and project finance deals

  • Support senior attorneys in managing client relationships and overseeing deal execution

  • Participate in business development efforts and support the firm’s strategic growth in the infrastructure and energy sector

  • Contribute to pro bono initiatives and participate in internal development programs

  • Collaborate across departments on multi-disciplinary matters related to complex infrastructure projects

Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant law firm experience (graduation years approximately 2019–2021)

  • Demonstrated background in transactional law with a focus on M&A, project finance, or infrastructure transactions

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously

  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills

  • A strong sense of professional judgment and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; eligibility for D.C. Bar admission required

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of transactional structures in the energy and infrastructure sectors

  • Strong client service orientation with the ability to foster long-term relationships

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage large volumes of information and deadlines

  • Competent in leading and supporting negotiations involving diverse stakeholders

  • Comfortable operating within fast-paced, high-stakes deal environments

  • Proficient in legal research and drafting complex legal documents
