A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an Associate Attorney to manage court appearances, litigation tasks, and client communications. The ideal candidate will be licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, with additional licenses in other states welcomed. Strong multitasking and communication skills are essential for handling a high volume case load.

 

Duties:

  • Prepare and handle court appearances within reasonable travel distance.
  • Review and request coverage for court calls when unable to appear, ensuring all necessary documents are attached.
  • Draft, review, and file motions during litigation proceedings.
  • Prepare for trials/arbitrations, potentially involving overnight stays in distant counties.
  • Communicate with consumers, their employers, and their attorneys to resolve accounts/suits.
  • Comfortably appear in court on time using personal transportation.
  • Manage a high volume case load with strong multitasking skills.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office for case management and communication tasks.

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri and Kansas.
  • Additional licensure in other states (IA, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, NV) welcomed.
  • Ability to appear in court on time consistently with personal transportation.
  • Strong multitasking skills for managing a high volume case load.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active licensure in the State of Missouri and Kansas.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to handle court appearances and litigation tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for case management.
  • Comfortable with multitasking in a high volume case load.
