Commercial Litigator - Real Estate Attorney

Job Overview

A dynamic and expanding real estate litigation and business law firm in New York is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Litigator - Real Estate Attorney with 7+ years of experience. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial and real estate litigation cases, representing businesses of all sizes. The role is based in Manhattan, with a focus on litigation in New York's federal, state, and city courts. The attorney will work closely with partners and manage cases from inception through trial, with opportunities to appear regularly in court and administrative hearings.

Duties

• Manage and litigate commercial and real estate disputes in federal, state, and city courts.
• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and discovery demands and responses.
• Argue motions and attend court hearings and administrative proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including case investigatory work, document review, and trial preparation.
• Work directly with partners to develop litigation strategies and manage case workloads.
• Attend depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Ensure all case deadlines and filings are met in a timely manner.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in commercial litigation and/or real estate litigation.
• Admitted to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
• Extensive experience with drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery.
• Proven ability to manage cases from inception through trial.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with both state and federal court procedures.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of New York.

Skills

• Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and case management.
• Strong oral and written advocacy skills.
• Ability to handle complex litigation and multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
