Duties

  • Represent clients in family law matters including mediation and trials

  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, contracts, and orders

  • Provide responsive, compassionate, and proactive customer service

  • Assist clients in understanding their legal options and developing appropriate legal strategies

  • Maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with emotionally sensitive cases

  • Collaborate effectively with a team to achieve individual, client, and firm goals

  • Ensure adherence to firm deadlines, legal procedures, and case management standards

Requirements

  • Active North Carolina law license (must be obtained prior to start; assistance provided for swearing-in)

  • Ability to manage independent caseloads and assist senior attorneys

  • Capability to handle legal matters with professionalism under emotional or stressful circumstances

  • Willingness to work on-site and travel to courts in designated counties

  • Valid North Carolina Notary Public, or ability to obtain immediately

  • Three professional references

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina

  • North Carolina Notary Public (or ability to obtain upon hire)
