Duties

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the biotechnology sector.
  • Conduct patentability searches and analyze biotech innovations for IP protection.
  • Provide opinions on patent validity, infringement, and freedom to operate.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement IP strategies aligned with their business goals.
  • Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licensing and confidentiality agreements.
  • Manage client IP portfolios and assist with due diligence efforts.
  • Support litigation teams when necessary by providing technical expertise on biotech patents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution within the biotechnology field.
  • In-depth understanding of biotechnology concepts and IP strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and directly with clients.

Education

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.

Certifications

  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills

  • Expertise in preparing and prosecuting biotechnology patents.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
