A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Corporate Attorney to join its team in Winter Haven, FL. Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various complex commercial contracts, including those related to transportation, warehousing, and financing agreements.
  • Advise clients on the strategic implications of contract terms and their impact on business operations.
  • Research and analyze legal issues about transportation law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Develop risk management strategies and manage insurance coverage issues for clients in the transportation sector.
  • Assist in due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and sales of transportation-related businesses.
  • Draft and respond to demand letters, and assist with employment and litigation matters as needed.
  • Manage multiple client matters and high-volume workloads independently and efficiently.
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory audits and investigations related to transportation law.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior associates, delegating tasks and overseeing the quality of their work.
  • Develop strategies to address complex legal challenges and offer solutions to clients and firm partners.
  • Generate business opportunities through referrals, networking, and industry involvement.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and legal developments, and actively participate in relevant associations and conferences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing corporate law, with a focus on regulated industries (preferably transportation).
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle high-volume legal matters and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Knowledge of transportation law, mergers and acquisitions, and employment law is highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present legal concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with experience supervising junior associates and delegating tasks.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to legal challenges, with the ability to manage complex matters and deliver results.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active admission to the Florida Bar or eligibility to practice law in Florida.
