Defense Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Defense Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team in Monrovia, CA. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience handling cases from inception to resolution. This hybrid role (2 days per week in the office) offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team while handling a range of litigation matters, including product liability, toxic tort, and general liability cases.

Duties:

• Manage defense litigation cases from start to finish, including investigation, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Draft and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Work closely with clients and experts to develop case strategies and ensure thorough case preparation.
• Collaborate with team members to share expertise and provide high-quality service.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Handle multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.

Requirements:

• 3-7 years of experience in defense litigation.
• Hands-on experience in managing cases from inception to resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Must be licensed to practice law in California.
• Experience in product liability, toxic tort, or general liability litigation preferred.
• Ability to manage a high caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California Bar License.
