A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in preparing legal documents for prenuptial agreements, divorces, alimony, child support, child custody, and real estate. The attorney should also be skilled in handling cases involving child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and managing the division of marital assets during divorce proceedings.

Duties:

  • Prepare necessary legal documents related to prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support, child custody, and real estate.
  • Handle legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence.
  • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed.
  • Keep client files properly organized and up to date.
  • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients.
  • Help solve legal problems for clients by analyzing situations, understanding their needs, and creating strategic plans of action.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases.
  • Provide excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations.

Requirements:

  • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years, including handling real estate.
  • Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants.
  • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association).

Education and Certifications:

  • Four-year degree with a legal background.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in the state of Texas.
