A law firm seeks a skilled and innovative Associate Attorney to join its expanding healthcare law practice in Saint Paul, MN. Duties:

  • Client Consultation & Advisory: Provide legal guidance to healthcare businesses, including advising on business law, healthcare compliance, and pre-litigation matters.
  • Team Collaboration: Supervise paralegals and law clerks, ensuring timely and accurate completion of legal tasks and supporting team success.
  • Drafting & Document Preparation: Prepare legal documents, contracts, and agreements tailored to healthcare clients, with attention to legal and regulatory details.
  • Strategic Legal Advice: Offer proactive, strategic advice on business transactions such as buy-sell agreements, healthcare legal issues, and ownership changes to mitigate risks.
  • Case Management & Support: Handle business and healthcare-related legal matters, including the drafting of operating agreements, employment contracts, and more.
  • Innovation & Feedback: Contribute to enhancing firm workflows by providing entrepreneurial feedback and collaborating with the team to improve processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on healthcare law or business law.
  • Licensure: Licensed and in good standing with the Minnesota State Bar.
  • Location: Must be based within 30 minutes of Saint Paul, MN.
  • Proactive & Independent: Ability to work remotely and independently with minimal supervision while remaining proactive in managing legal matters.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written communication skills, including proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and document proofreading.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using legal technology or a quick learner with solid customer service skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota.

Skills:

  • Expertise in healthcare law, including compliance with MHCP/DHS programs and HIPAA regulations.
  • Experience in business law, including patient documentation, operating agreements, and healthcare-related contracts.
  • Ability to manage legal projects and communicate effectively with clients and the internal team.
