Job Overview:

A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Global Projects Construction Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working on a range of construction contracts, including EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance contracts. This role requires strong drafting and contract analysis skills, the ability to manage and mentor a team, and a deep interest in the energy industry and client businesses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance agreements.
  • Manage and supervise junior associates, providing guidance and oversight on project matters.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop and implement legal strategies for global construction projects.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex information to provide clear and actionable legal advice to clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting construction and energy projects.
  • Develop and foster relationships with clients, providing exceptional client service and support.
  • Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts by participating in client meetings, presentations, and networking events.
  • Ensure all legal work is performed in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility to become admitted.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in construction law, with a focus on global projects.
  • Proven experience in managing and supervising a legal team.
  • Strong drafting skills and contract analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality substantive work and client service.
  • Interest in the energy industry and understanding of clients’ business needs.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Washington, DC Bar or eligibility to obtain membership.

  • Expertise in construction contract law, including EPC, EPCM, BOP, and other relevant agreements.
