Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to support cross-border and global employment work. This full-time, non-partnership track role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in employment counseling, with strong preferences for candidates with international counseling experience. The attorney will work on a variety of tasks, including advising on corporate transactions, negotiating employment agreements, handling reductions in force, and providing strategic counsel on employee mobility. The role will require frequent collaboration with the firm's global employment practice offices.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on global employment matters.
  • Conduct employment diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
  • Advise on reductions in force, employee terminations, and severance matters.
  • Draft and enforce restrictive covenants and counsel on employee mobility.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to emerging companies on all aspects of employment law.
  • Work closely with the global employment team to support cross-border matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in employment counseling, both domestic and international.
  • Strong experience in employment law, including advising on corporate transactions and employment agreements.
  • Bar Admission in the jurisdiction of employment (license to practice law).
  • Experience in an AmLaw 100 law firm is preferred.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in the jurisdiction of practice.

Skills

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Negotiation and drafting expertise in employment law matters.
  • Ability to handle complex, multi-jurisdictional employment issues.
  • Proficiency in advising clients on global employment law, including employee mobility and cross-border transactions.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and adaptable approach to work in a team setting.
