As a Criminal Defense Attorney, you will manage your caseload, represent clients in criminal matters, and collaborate with a dynamic team of legal professionals. Flexibility for remote work is available, but candidates must be based in the Bay Area or nearby locations for in-person court appearances as required.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients regarding their rights and responsibilities, drafting documents and agreements as necessary.
  • Represent clients during pretrial hearings and advise on the best strategies post-hearing.
  • Handle court appearances, trials, motion preparation, witness interviews, and legal research.
  • Analyze the likely outcomes of cases using legal precedents and case history.
  • Manage a varied caseload with a focus on detail and efficiency.
  • Advise clients on the potential benefits of pursuing or settling their cases.
  • Gather additional evidence and research to strengthen the defense or challenge prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and work with witnesses and experts to build case strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in criminal defense.
  • Proven experience handling complex criminal cases at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining high attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the state bar in California.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of criminal law and legal precedents.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
