A law firm seeks a dedicated Debt Finance Associate Attorney with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience to join its Corporate Department in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a background in debt financing, with a preference for those who have represented private equity sponsors and borrower-side finance. Duties

  • Manage debt financing transactions, providing comprehensive legal support throughout the process.
  • Represent private equity sponsors and borrowers in negotiations and documentation of financing agreements.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to debt financing, including credit agreements, term sheets, and related correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to inform transaction strategies and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and departments to ensure alignment on transaction objectives and client needs.
  • Maintain organized documentation and records related to all financing transactions.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients regarding financing options and implications.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar is preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in debt financing, with demonstrated expertise in corporate finance.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address financing issues effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Illinois Bar (preferred).
