A law firm seeks an experienced Oil and Gas Attorney for its Des Moines, IA location.

Job Overview:

The Oil and Gas Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients in oil and gas title examination matters. They will leverage their expertise to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations while facilitating transactions and resolving disputes within the oil and gas industry.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough title examinations for oil and gas properties in North Dakota.
  • Analyze and interpret complex legal documents, including leases, contracts, and deeds.
  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients regarding oil and gas transactions, leases, and agreements.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and opinions.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and litigation related to oil and gas matters.
  • Stay updated on developments in oil and gas law and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of North Dakota oil and gas title examination experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Strong academic background with a J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School.
  • Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Ability to promptly obtain admission to the state bar of North Dakota.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-Accredited Law School.
