Duties:

• Review case files and analyze claims and causes of action
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft detailed legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and manage retention processes
• Prepare for and attend trials
• Maintain an annual billable target of 1950 hours
• Travel may be required for certain cases

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in Insurance Defense, with First Party Insurance experience a plus
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Licensed to practice in New York, additional state admissions are a plus
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Prompt responsiveness to client and team communications
• Exceptional client management and professional demeanor

Education:

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice in New York (other State Bar Admissions are a plus)
