Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their cases.
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing.
  • Manage court appearances and trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and performing legal research.
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring all deadlines and clients are informed.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine possible case benefits.
  • Accrue additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter the prosecution's charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions; determine essential goals of case strategy and gather information from witnesses and experts supporting clients’ positions.
  • Collaborate with fellow associates to strategize and provide mutual assistance on cases.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience handling complex federal, state, and local criminal cases.
  • Strong team player willing to assist and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and make sound judgments.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess case details and develop strategic defense plans.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
