Insurance coverage Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Rochester, NY, is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a background in representing policyholders in insurance coverage matters, including reviewing insurance policies, handling claims, and litigating insurance coverage disputes. Experience in construction insurance coverage and corporate transactional work is advantageous but not required. The position requires strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, along with a New York Bar license.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent policyholders in insurance coverage disputes and matters.
• Review and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage.
• Handle and manage insurance claims from inception through resolution.
• Draft and negotiate contractual indemnity and insurance provisions.
• Litigate insurance coverage disputes in state and federal courts.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and legal professionals to build and present cases.
• Stay current with developments in insurance law and coverage issues.
• Provide clear and practical legal advice to clients on insurance matters.
• Prepare detailed reports and legal documents related to insurance coverage issues.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 1-5 years of experience in insurance coverage law, preferably representing policyholders.
• Familiarity with insurance policies and coverage issues.
• Experience with construction insurance coverage and corporate transactional work is a plus.
• Strong analytical, writing, and overall communication skills.
• Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide clear, concise advice.

Education:

• JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
